In 1887 The Aston Villa captain Archie Hunter scored against West Bromwich on Kennington Oval, a match which Aston Villa won 2-0. It was the first Fa cup final that Aston Villa won, but they had won 7 finals. 

Archie Hunter was a legend on Villa Park, when he could not attend an awayday match because of his job and could not travel with the other players, Aston Villa rented a train just to transport Archie Hunter to the match.
