Premier League 2013-2014 - It is all about the money
When the Premier League starts 17 august 2013 and players all over England kick-off for a new season in what is called the world's biggest sporting tournament. Almost five billion people worldwide followed the matches of the 2012-2013 season, whether it was at home on the couch, in a ramshackle bar in a suburb in Jakarta or in a pub in Helsinki, and even more people will be looking this year.
The quality has improved, claims Premier League's director, Richard Scudamore. "We are going to see the 20 of the world's 35 biggest clubs, when you look at revenue" he said.
Several clubs have spent their money on reinforcements and new players are ready to be bought. The transfer window closes on the 2 September and the 20 clubs in the Premier League has in this season to share almost 75 billion dollars, which broadcasters pay to show English football.
The wealthiest clubs win, all statistics and experience back to the world's first organized football in 1888-1889, where contemporary big club Preston North End secured the championship and won the cup.
4 clubs, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal, owns huge funds, and the championship is going to one of them, but Tottenham Hotspur could also play an important role.
